What this is

A working publication on quantitative medical imaging: what imaging data supports as measurement, how imaging metadata fails, and what constitutes credible validation of imaging AI.

It covers four things in practice:

  • Quantitative imaging biomarkers — repeatability, reproducibility and bias, and the conditions under which an image-derived number can carry a stated precision.
  • Imaging data quality and DICOM metadata — what headers establish, where they mislead, and what has to be captured before it is lost.
  • Scanner and multi-site variability — the deterministic instrument differences behind cross-site effects, and the limits of harmonisation.
  • Validation and regulatory qualification — what evidence supports a claim about generalisation, and what review actually asks for.

Who it is for

Imaging informatics leads, core laboratories, pharma imaging groups, academic imaging researchers, and regulatory reviewers.

The writing assumes fluency. It assumes you know what a DICOM attribute is, what an ADC map is, and why a test–retest coefficient matters. Nothing here explains imaging from first principles, and there is no introductory tier planned.

Ownership and funding

The site is owned, operated and funded by AGCP, which works on quantitative imaging and imaging data quality commercially. That is a real interest and it is stated here rather than buried.

What follows from it:
